Consistent characters, built with code

I wanted consistent characters, not a collection of unrelated images. So I started drawing the faces, hair, clothes, and backgrounds in JavaScript.

Now I can refine the graphics in one place and see those changes across a whole collection. Ancient fantasy was the first setting. Modern people use the same core portrait renderer.

It's still an experiment. The goal is to keep making the characters better.

The demo is one HTML file. Download it, open it in your browser, and start changing the character data or drawing functions. No installation or image-generation API needed.
